I definitely see your point.
The inequality of U.S. charity just isn't right.

I made a similar point about the tsunami that hit southeast Asia some time ago. Although, that was primarily a global effort, US media was nowhere near as "helpful" during that time.

I mean you could point to several different factors as the reason. What are their interests in Haiti? Are they helping (in political mindset) so that other countries remember their generosity? Whatever Haiti is, symbol or otherwise only confirms our media sensationalism. The inconsistency is ironic at best.

I absolutely HATE when teachers do that. One time last year a girl was giving her Oral presentation with a powerpoint (another girl was operating the slides behind her). At one point, her slide switched when it was supposed to, so I managed to catch slide-girl's eye and "ask" if she had done that on purpose. She looked bewildered too.

Presentation girl stopped lecturing and told me to stop distracting her. I tried to explain what was going on with her slides, but then the English teacher cut in and threatened my grade. So I shut up.

Of course, when she finally realized that her entire slideshow was now ahead one slide, it caused massive confusion. And I just sat and fumed. To this day, NOBODY who was there gives me credit for doing the right thing; not my friends, the presentation girl, or my teacher. It freaking sucks.

I completely agree with you. I think it's ridiculous.. every time I turn on the tv or browse the web I see about a million commercials for different organizations for Haiti. Which makes me

One of my questions is, if their environment/culture is as bad as that girl implied, then why was no body helping them before the earthquakes??

*which makes me question, why are they not working together? There was three commercials on hulu last night, each the text this number and you'll donate 10$, but they were all different numbers and organizations.
