Opinions needed. Iphone or Droid?
Sunday. 1.16.11 12:06 am
I'm either going to get an iPhone 4 or Droid X within the next month, and I'd really like some honest opinions and feedback, especially if you own one of the two.

Thanks!

If Blackberry was on the list, I'd say Blackberry.. but.. since it's not, I'd say iPhone 4. No, I don't own either one but I have quite a number of friends using either one. Despite the hype, the iPhone's software will update itself, unlike the droids whereby the software updates depends on if the manufacturer wants that particular model's software to be updated. Meaning that under certain circumstances, one model will be updated, another one. Some applications (like Foursquares) also make Androids very sluggish and laggy.

I've noticed that the Droid is a lot easier to use for the people I know who have them, though. It really depends on what your main uses for a phone are, since both the iPhone and the Droid are relatively decent phones.

Droid
The Android platform is friggin' baller, and if you're one for customization you can do more with a rooted Android phone than with a rooted iPhone. The only advantage the iPhone has is that crazy awesome screen, but honestly I probably wouldn't even notice the difference. The point Nuttz brought up about software updates is true, but manufacturers seem to make exceptions for their flagship models. Some phones, like mine, are pretty behind on the updates. But the Droids are always the first to get upgrades, so it wouldn't really affect you. What carrier are you using?

Nothing I can say to that...
You'll have to wait for Verizon to get the iPhone. I think that's in February or something...maybe not a big deal to you. Number one thing that the Droid has over the iPhone, in my opinion, is sideloading apps without jailbreaking.
